According to the official statement issued by the institute, the program aims to prepare participants to earn the international qualification in order to become a Certified Blockchain Professional C|BP. The program was created in response “to the growing demand for skilled blockchain professionals,” BIBF Director Dr. Ahmed Al Shakiah stated.
The certification consists of three competency areas: development, implementation and strategy. The program was developed by BIBF in partnership with MyLearning Key, a Dubai-based training firm.
Ahmed Naeemi, head of IT, Operations and Project Management, said in a press release the program “aims to support businesses and organizations as they adopt new technologies like blockchain.”
Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance is not the pioneer in blockchain course adoption. Other universities have also followed the suit in supporting blockchain developments. Just earlier this month, the University of Tokyo launched its own blockchain course after an $800,000 donation received from some of the country’s major companies. Additionally, earlier this week, Bitfury, a multi-national multi-sectional blockchain firm, has partnered up with the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics to create an accelerator for blockchain projects.
The government of Bahrain also accepted that the blockchain technology cannot be ignored any longer. Abdulhussain Mirza, the country’s minister of electricity and water affairs, has emphasized that blockchain provides an innovative way to facilitate transactions securely and transparently, which would transform a multitude of industries worldwide in the nearest future.
